Zara flies around the world
in a microlight.
On 18 August 2021, 19yr old Zara Rutherford took off solo in a Shark microlight with the aim of becoming the youngest woman to fly around the world and also the first woman to do so in a microlight.
Well… she did it! Zara successfully landed back home on 20 January 2022, 155 days later.
We are proud of, and incredibly inspired by, Zara - a BMAA member - and we congratulate her on this amazing achievement.
