Joining The BMAA

To take advantage of the benefits of membership and support the organisation that represents the interests of all microlight pilots in the UK we hope that you will join our association.

There are several membership options explained below so please read through and decide the best option for you and then select join now or renew to process your application.

Single membership

  • 12 or 36 months membership
  • 1 Copy of Microlight Flying magazine per issue
  • Access to BMAA Technical Office services
  • Access to Member section of the BMAA web site 
  • Access to BMAA Wings Scheme
  • Rights as a member to vote in BMAA elections
  • Rights as a member to stand for the BMAA Council
  • Any other benefits limited to BMAA members


Family membership

  • 12 or 36 months membership
  • 1 Copy of Microlight Flying magazine per issue
  • Access to BMAA Technical Office services
  • Access to Member section of the BMAA web site 
  • Access to BMAA Wings Scheme
  • Rights as members to vote in BMAA elections
  • Rights as members to stand for the BMAA Council
  • Any other benefits limited to BMAA members
  • (FAMILY means persons directly related and domiciled in the same house.)

Current Membership Fees 

Single and Family membership options are available for 12 or 36 months in the UK or outside the UK.

Student membership discount is available for microlight flying students when their application is supported by their flying instructor.

Young persons' membership discount is available for members who are aged between 14 and 21 years on the date of application. 

Minimum age for membership is 14.

Corporate membership is available for BGA gliding clubs operating BMAA permit tug planes. Please Contact us for details.

Membership of the BMAA is subject to the Articles of Association and the Rules. You can read these documents on our Governance page.

You can join or renew your membership today, here on-line. You can pay by card, or if you choose to pay by Direct Debit you can save £6 on your first year's fee if you make a single payment or alternatively you can spread your payments over the year in twelve equal amounts.
