IT looks like there were only two types of pilots aloft this month: those in Team GB competing for global glory at the World Championships in France, and the rest of us mere mortals who were either up just bimbling around, or taking some fabulous pics for the photo comp.

As a result, it’s yet again been a monumental struggle to pick a winner, but you’ll find out who was the best of the best in your next MF – as well as whether Team GB was able to repeat last year’s fabulous gold medal performance at Deenethorpe.

Ferry trip by Clive Mason. “I had the privilege of flying this aeroplane from Husbands Bosworth <br>to Deenethorpe for its new owner, so I just had to get the camera out,” said Clive.

Going Nutts by Brendan Digney. Nutts Corner roundabout and the remnants of 1943 RAF Nutts Corner, which became Northern Ireland’s <br>main civil airport in 1946 until it was replaced by Aldergrove in 1963, from Brendan in his Eurostar.

Haywood Farm by Clive Moore. “Weather permitting, the members of Severn Valley Microlight Club fly to a different airfield <br>each Wednesday, and this was a barbeque at Haywood Farm strip near Hereford,” said Clive.

Keen to fly by Barry Flood. Barry’s son Rogan getting the hang of it in a Pioneer at Carrickmore airfield in <br>Northern Ireland. “I’ve just bought my first plane, a C42, so he’s excited for me to take him up in the air,” said Barry.

New Horizons by Josh Matthews. “Me and Derek Holman of New Horizons Microlight School in Spain. I’ve been twice, and even passed <br> my GST with Derek,” said Josh.

Over clouds at sunset by Daniel Langton. Every cloud has a golden lining. Daniel and his <br>trusty GT450 head heavenwards from Hawksview airfield in Cheshire for a glorious evening bimble.

Prince of Wales Bridge by Graham Crowley-Miller. The Prince of Wales Bridge over the Severn, taken while returning from <br>Sandown to Swansea. “My daughter Amelia, after Earhart, is 20 months old, and always looks through MF,” said Graham.

Scarborough Castle by Fraser Simpson. “Scarborough Castle headland on a Sunday morning bimble down the spectacular <br>Yorkshire coast from Eddsfield with my very keen flying friend Richard Buckley in my Quik 912S,” said Fraser.

Scilly by David Manetta-Jones. “Chris Williams and I flew down in our C42, plus a Skyranger with Martin Richardson <br>and Gary Craine, from our home airfield at Old Park Farm,” said David. “The pic shows us holding over St Agnes.”

Snowdon by Aaron Whiffin. “Looking along Crib Goch to Snowdon summit, on a flight from Membury in a C42. <br>On the hottest day of the year, the ride back to Membury was a little bumpy, to say the least,” said Aaron.

Solent by Steve Robson. “About to cross the Solent in my Shadow on a weekend with flying mates: to Bembridge <br>in the Isle of Wight overnight before Popham for the trade fair, then home to Newnham, in North Hertfordshire,” said Steve.
