Chief Executive (CE) - Geoff Weighell

The CE is responsible for directing the BMAA staff to achieve the strategic aims of the BMAA Council. The CE currently takes the lead in regulatory representation for the benefit of the members; the aim to ensure that regulation affecting microlight flying is reduced as much as possible and that any that remains is proportionate to the activity.

Geoff started working for the BMAA in October 2006. Before then he ran a microlight flying school at Enstone, Oxfordshire.

He started his flying career flying hang gliders and then moved to microlights in 1981 with a Mainair TriFlyer kit aircraft. He subsequently became a flight instructor, then an examiner and ultimately Chairman of the Microlight Panel of Examiners. Geoff has competed in national and international competitions in microlights and as crew in helicopters. 

Prior to working for the BMAA Geoff served on the BMAA Council and was Chairman for two years.
