Student pilot? Volunteers wanted
Flight safety researchers at the University of Birmingham are looking for Student Pilot volunteers aged 18 to 25, with 5 to 50 hours of Single Engine Piston (SEP) aircraft flying experience to take part in simulator based flight safety research.
The experiments are designed to inform future aircraft design and pilot training. They will take place in the University’s Flight Simulation Laboratory during February and March 2024, Monday 9am to Friday 5pm.
Participants will perform a varied range simulated flight scenarios using advanced technologies during a two hour time period at Edgbaston Campus, Birmingham, (B15 2TT). A full pre-flight briefing is given and results of the study will be shared on completion of the project.
The laboratory is a short walk (10 mins) from the University's own railway station (‘University’) 7 minutes by train from Birmingham New Street station. All experiments will be conducted in compliance with the University’s ethical procedures (Approval Number: 241023). Participation is purely voluntary in the interests of improving flight safety.
