NPPL (A) Microlight Examinations - Further Extension Granted
Following requests by the BMAA to further extend the validity of ground examinations taken towards the grant of the NPPL (A) Microlight licence the CAA has granted a further extension of validity.
The terms are those published in ORS4 1464, which was published on 14 January 2021 but only applying to a range of commercial applications. The new extended validity periods will shortly be published on the CAA website. The relevant passages are copied below for convenience.
The purpose of this exemption is to enable the extension of validity periods of theoretical
knowledge examinations currently being undertaken or completed as part of training courses
for pilot licenses, ratings and certificates …………….
Each relevant validity period shall continue to apply unless the consequences of the COVID-19
pandemic prevent it. In these cases, the expiry date of the validity periods may be extended to
a future date which shall be no later than 31 May 2021.
This exemption applies to ……………… the validity periods of completed theoretical knowledge examinations that are due to expire on any date from 16 March 2020 to 31 May 2021 inclusive ……
Summary: The validity of examinations that have been taken and passed and due to expire between 16 March 2020 and 31 May 2021 is extended until 31 May 2021.
