PRESS RELEASE: BMAA approves a new UK Light Sport Microlight, the TL 2000 Sting S4
The British Microlight Aircraft Association (BMAA) is pleased to announce the Type Approval of a new factory-built Light Sport Microlight, the TL 2000 Sting S4.
TL-Ultralight s.r.o. based in the Czech Republic, manufacture the aircraft after achieving UK CAA A8-1 manufacturer approval in April 2022. They were the first company based in the Republic to do so, additionally gaining approval in record time (4.5 months).
TL-Ultralight s.r.o., working with the UK Agents Paul Sanders & Peter Ronfell of TL-Sting (UK) Ltd, has delivered five factory-built airframes to UK skies; G-DOOG, G-MCME, G-STJP, G-MPDF & G-CMLV, with another possibly to follow before the end of this year.
BMAA is thankful to the UK CAA for their pragmatic approach to this project and our partnership to streamline the approval process for new companies and products. A note of thanks must go to the owners who offered their aircraft for testing and to the test pilots involved, Chris Taylor and Dan Griffiths, for their input and contribution to the project. They continue to work with the UK CAA on the TL Stream LSM.
