BMAA Appoint a new CTO

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Roger Pattrick as the new BMAA Chief Technical Officer. Roger will take up the post in early August.

Roger has had a significant career in the microlight world. After University he joined Hornet Microlights as Chief Inspector in 1985. He then moved to Mainair as Chief Designer and subsequently became part of P&M Aviation. He was appointed as Chief Executive at P&M Aviation before deciding to join the BMAA in 2015 as Design Approval Engineer. His appointment to CTO at the BMAA is a natural progression following four years gaining experience of all aspects of airworthiness of the BMAA fleet.

Working alongside Roger is Rob Mott our Chief Inspector. Both are very capable aeronautical engineers and are equal in seniority within the BMAA Technical Office.

To replace Roger following his appointment, the BMAA is looking for someone with enthusiasm to take on the role of supporting the team as a Design Approval Engineer. The successful applicant’s qualifications will ideally include an Honours Degree in Aeronautical Engineering, although applications are also welcome from people with an Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering.  Although not a mandatory requirement it is preferable for the applicant to have some practical experience as a pilot of microlight or other light aircraft. Applicants are invited to submit a CV to the BMAA Chief Executive.
