July 2024
IT’S raining cats, dogs and baffled wombats outside as I write this, but at least I got up for a bimble in the Thruster on Saturday, and in a summer like this, we just have to adopt the ancient Latin motto of Carpe diem, or Seize the fish, and grab every flugelling opportunity we can.
Not that I need to tell you chaps and chapesses that, of course, since you’ve whizzed in 16 fabulous entries this month, with everything from hotships like the incoming Ellipse to seasoned flexwing pilot Al Robinson turning to the dark side. In a Thruster, naturally.
Not to mention a lovely image by Martin Sandwith of flugellers gathered around the evening campfire at Wings & Wheels.
Lee McIlwaine, meanwhile, has been honing his sense of irony finely with a shot of Tony Morrell in a downpour at the same event titled Glorious summer.
Lee, you are not alone. Now if you’ll all excuse me, I’ve just got soaked from taking the bin in, so I’ll just get out of these wet clothes and into a dry martini.
