The annual Duxford Safety Day will be held on Saturday 27th April 2019.

Geoff Weighell and John Teesdale will be attending the event to represent the BMAA.

Programme of the day:

CAA; 11.00 to 11.40

CAA Presentation – two parts, Colin Chesterton (Future Systems Deployment, Airspace, ATM & Aerodromes, Safety & Airspace) - ADS-B

Rob Gratton (Principal Airspace Regulator) - Infringements

Trig: 11.45 to 12.25

Trig Avionics is involved internationally in ADS-B and are experts in the technology that meets current and future standards.  

James Forbes (VFR and IFR Pilot) of Trig will be giving the presentation, he is involved in ADS-B policy as an industry voice to EASA. Trig was involved in Project EVA and supported NATS and EASA and FASVIG – there project provided valuable lessons on the practical use of ADS-B devices in the cockpit.

NATS: 12.30 to 13.10

Andy Amor, ATC Ops Support and Safety,
“What would you do?”, which aims to put the audience in the ATC seat in various scenarios and asks them how they would react.

NATS still remains very concerned by the frequency of infringements of CAS, despite the availability of modern moving map GPS technology.
