19-21 June 2015

BMAA Spamfield is back on the agenda for 2015 with a move back to its traditional timing of June.

For those of you who know and love Spamfield, the traditional elements will all be there: the huge, friendly airfield , over water flights, its trademark social atmosphere, flights around the Island, easy access to Sandown and the beach, and Mogas and supplies in the supermarket only a short walk away. This year we have improved the food offerings, ensured that the bar will be open earlier, and have some more surprise attractions up our sleeve!

Fees are the same as last year, with no money up front, and the option for weekend and day visitors. BUT we have a hard limit on numbers, and already a long way towards it with the registrations we already have. The cut off times for registration will be a week in advance of the event (or earlier if full) to allow us to complete the admin beforehand. Remember pre-registering is the only way you can take advantage of the reduced fees for BMAA members.

So, please register! You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. And do you really want to miss out on the party of the year………?

Show and Tell

Show and Tell is an event designed to introduce fliers to the concept of microlight competition flying but in a non-competitive environment. Show and Tell 2015 will take place on the Saturday of Spamfield (weather permitting of course) and will include an overview of the BMAA National Championships and what to expect if you were to enter one of the many competition weekends. Following an interactive session in the morning with presentations from current competition pilots, a short navex can be flown with gps loggers to provide analysis of your flight.

In the evening there will be a demonstration of precision landings in both Fixed & Flex wing microlights by World Champions Paul Dewhurst and Rob Grimwood (and possibly some other experts),and if the conditions permit, those of you interested may also be able to give it ago.

If you fancy learning a little more about what the compers do, indicate your interest when registering for Spamfield. Closer to the day, you will receive additional information regarding the Show and Tell aspects of the weekend. Be quick though as interest is already very high which means we may have to limit the navex with loggers on a first come first served basis.
