Spamfield 2014 - Sandown Airport.
Sandown Airport is the host airfield for the BMAA 2014 Spamfield Microlight Fly-in.
The event will be over the weekend of the 6th and 7th of September with arrivals starting on Friday the 5th.
To assist with planning the event it would help if you can register your intentions by clicking on this link and letting us know on which days you expect to be at the event and if you intend to camp. There are over 240 aircraft registered already with more than 160 camping overnight on the Saturday.
2014 latest news 5 September 2014.
As you will be aware the airspace along the south coast is very busy. Please see this advice from the Southampton ATC:
“Pilots operating within 5NM of
the Southampton CTR or Solent CTA boundary, or who are unsure of their
position in relation to whether their track requires a crossing clearance of
controlled airspace are encouraged to contact Solent Radar, on 120.225MHz,
for at least a Basic Service. Please be aware of the airspace boundaries
including the varying bases of the Solent CTA; if necessary request a crossing
clearance. This is to ensure that no infringements of the Southampton CTR and
Solent CTA occur.”
Further guidance is an associated document. Please read this before you set out. Link

had a break you can go for a tour of the island, take your mates for flights
and still only pay once
