Spamfield 2014 - Sandown Airport.

Sandown Airport is the host airfield for the BMAA 2014 Spamfield Microlight Fly-in.
The event will be over the weekend of the 6th and 7th of September with arrivals starting on Friday the 5th.
To assist with planning the event it would help if you can register your intentions by clicking on this link and letting us know on which days you expect to be at the event and if you intend to camp. There are over 240 aircraft registered already with more than 160 camping overnight on the Saturday.

Spamfield 2014 latest news.

Planning is going well with the team from the Hampshire Microlight Club working well with the Isle of Wight Flying Club. We can tell you that subject to any last minute hitches (which surely there won’t be):

  • There will be a band and hangar party on Saturday evening, food will be available

  • There will be food available each day from 0600 until 1800 in the airfield café

  • There will be camping available on site

  • The landing fees allow any aircraft multiple landings so after you have arrived and had a break you can go for a tour of the island, take your mates for flights and still only pay once

  • The weekend landing fee includes camping

  • The weekend fee includes the entertainment on Saturday night

Event fees

The fees for the event obviously favour BMAA members.

A single day attendance for a BMAA member in his or her aircraft is £10. Non-members £20.

A weekend attendance for a BMAA member in his or her aircraft, 2 or 3 days including the overnight camping and Saturday evening party, is just £15. Non-members £25.

Passengers go FREE!!!!!

Places are limited and priority will be given to BMAA members registering for attendance before they arrive at the event.
