Dave Sykes well on the way Oz

Flying to Austrailia, how hard can it be?
80 years after Amy Johnsonís epic flight, most people would consider flying to Australia straightforward. A long flight perhaps, but no worries. Unless your aircraft has a 27í flexible wing, a single engine and an open cockpit.
Now consider doing it solo and unsupported. Now add a wheel chair to your equipment list and you will begin to appreciate the challenge Dave Sykes has set himself. Dave may be paraplegic but thatís not going to stop him.
Dave departed from Rufforth airfield York Thursday 28th April. .

Further details of his journey, and a live blog of his progress, available at www.soloflightglobal.com
